As Sony Like to launch every years its brands, Sony has presented the second part of its 2017. Three models have been made official: the Sony Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact and XA1 Plus. The XA1 Plus is a new reference in the line “XA” which is positioned between the XA1 and the XA1 Ultra. It retains the mid-range positioning of these two, as well as most of the data sheet, while offering an intermediate screen size that fans of the brand have not found at Sony since the Xperia C4.
Sony Xperia has 5.5 inch Full HD display
The screen of the Xperia XA1 Plus is a IPS Full HD slab of 5.5 inches (for a resolution of 402 pixels per inch) covered with a 2.5D mineral glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The chipset that drives the smartphone is the same as that of the XA1 Ultra: a Helio P20, a mid-range octo-core from MediaTek. Here the Cortex-A53 are clocked at 2.3 GHz for the fastest and at 1.6 GHz for the most economical. The GPU is an ARM Mali-T880 MP2.
The chipset comes with 3GB of RAM (slightly less than the XA1 Ultra) and 32GB of internal storage, expandable by microSDXC. No step at 64 GB here, unlike the Ultra model. Connections and connections are also the same as those of the big brother: WiFi n, Bluetooth 4.2, FM radio, NFC, GPS, LTE category 4, USB 2.0 type-C. The set works with Android 7.0 Nougat and the overlay Sony. Same for the battery: 2700 mAh capacity and Pump Express + compatibility for fast charging.
23 megapixel photo sensor
Side photo, the XA1 Plus retains all the strengths of the XA1, but not all those of the XA1 Ultra, including the webcam. This results in a 23-megapixel main sensor combined with 24mm optics opening at f / 2.0, phase-detection autofocus (no hybrid autofocus here) and a dual-tone flash. No optical stabilizer. At the front, the webcam is an 8 megapixel model, as on the XA1, with 24 mm lens opening at f / 2.0 and a standard autofocus. The XA1 Plus does not take the front flash of the XA1 Ultra.
The set is stored in an aluminum chassis that largely takes the design of the XA1 and XA1 Ultra, but not entirely. Some of the ergonomic codes of the premium XZ models are reinstated here. This is particularly the case of the start button, which is no longer round, but elongated. This offers the possibility to Sony to integrate a fingerprint reader, missing the XA1 and XA1 Ultra. The mobile measures 8.7 mm thick. He weighs 189 grams, a little more than his big brother. It is available in four colors: black, blue, pink and gold.
