New Year’s Eve being a major annual event, take the time to make your evening a pleasant and unique moment with these party dinner ideas.

1. Dinner and dice
This supper begins with a throw of the dice. The numbers on the die correspond to the dishes of the meal. Whatever the number given by the die, it is the dish that you will eat first.

It may be soup in the kitchen or a chocolate dessert in the living room, but it forces people to join the party and chat with each other as they visit the house to find the dishes.

When midnight sounds, the six dishes must be celebrated with a glass of champagne to celebrate the new year.

2. Random neighbourhood

It works well if you have family or a group of friends living within walking distance of each other.

Guests start in a house with canapes and drinks, then they move on to the second house for entry.
The main course is served in another house and dessert at someone else’s table.

Finally, coffee and champagne are served in the last house to welcome the New Year at midnight.
This type of party also distributes the cost of the celebrations among the participants.

3. New Year’s Barbecue
Barbecues are not just for the summer months, they are perfect for a cold winter’s night.

With plenty of warm clothing, hearty soup and delicious grilled food, the barbecue heat keeps the party spirit going until the clock strikes midnight.

Hot mulled wine with cinnamon will accompany this type of outdoor party very well.

4. White evening
For a party dinner with a theme, choose the winter wonderland theme and do it all in white.

You can dress all in white, the decor can be glittery white.
For an interesting challenge, you can even choose to serve only white food. Try the white pasta with Alfredo sauce, the white bean soup and white cake with white icing for dessert.

This theme is slightly different from the traditional black tie and tuxedo, but it adds a touch of glamour to New Year’s Eve.
