“At least five policemen and one pedestrian were killed and 16 others injured when a motorcycle suicide bomber hit the bus,” police chief Abdul Razzaq Cheema told to media. The attack was not claimed immediately.
The attack took place near the Legislative Assembly of Balochistan Province – Quetta capital.
Baluchistan, bordering Iran and Afghanistan, is a province rich in natural resources, but unstable and shaken by a separatist insurgency and Islamist violence. The Shia minority and the police are frequently attacked by insurgents.
