In addition to smart-looking glass smartphones and powerful technical specs, Samsung also launches handsets specially designed for the bumblers, who need rugged handsets and withstand bigger crashes. Among the line tops, these smartphones are part of the “Galaxy S Active” line, but there is also the “Galaxy Xcover” line, which offers the same features but with a lower price.
Last year Samsung announced the Galaxy Xcover 4 smartphone, which is a robust mid-range device with simple technical specifications, but with a design that promises to withstand larger drops. The smartphones of this line are usually launched in March, which happened last year, but in 2018 Samsung let this period pass, which raised questions about the launch of the successor to Galaxy Xcover 4.
Now it looks like this line of robust smartphones is not dead yet. That’s because a new rumor indicates that Samsung is working on the Galaxy Xcover 5 and there is even a link made for the device. In the case, the link can be found on Google, but when we click on it we find a page saying there is nothing there. This may indicate that Samsung placed the Galaxy Xcover 5 page in the air, but withdrew soon after.
Unfortunately, there is still not much information on the Galaxy Xcover 5. It is speculated that it will be released with intermediate technical specifications as well as its predecessor, which can mean 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. In addition, something that should not be left out is the IP68 certification against water and dust, and the MIL-STD 810G certification, which guarantees the robustness of the device.
There is also no information on when Samsung intends to announce this new smartphone in the market. This is expected to happen within the next few weeks, but to be sure, you have to wait for the company’s official statement on the subject. Anyway, since Samsung has not launched any smartphone of this line in Brazil, it is quite unlikely that the Galaxy Xcover 5 will arrive here officially.
